Sampdoria have officially signed striker Manolo Gabbiadini from Southampton for a reported €12m.
Both clubs confirmed on their official websites that Gabbiadini’s move was permanent, contrary to reports that stated the 27-year-old had signed on loan for €3m with a €9m obligation to buy.
The forward returns to Samp, where he scored 19 goals in 50 appearances before joining Napoli in January 2015.
He memorably scored six goals in his first four appearances for Southampton between February and March 2017 but went on to net just six more times for the Saints.
Gabbiadini also has two goals in 11 caps for Italy without representing them at a major tournament.
